The HE- FARM consortium is conformed in a multidisciplinary and complementary team including 14 partners from 6 nationalities, eleven farms and an external advisory board. Partners include:

  • 2 universities (UAH, UNIVET) with a strong record in biosecurity & engineering and veterinary respectively
  • 5 research centers (CSIC, IP, INRAE, IRD, CIOP) covering all transmission channels and microorganisms,
  • A meat industry (INCAR) and its affiliated farms (ICPOR), a fully integrated Farm to Fork chain including transport,
  • 3 technology based SMEs (CF, NOVAP, SJT), providing useful high techs from different fields;
  • The standardization body of Romania (ASRO), as well as
  • A food technology network (CATAL) with an extensive network and potential of impact on stakeholders.

UAH- UNIVERSIDAD DE ALCALÁ

The University of Alcalá was funded in 1498 by Cardinal Cisneros as the model for humanistics univerities and was highlighted by Erasmus of Rotterdam as best example of a Reinaissance University. Currently it included faculties of humanties, Health, Bussines and Engineering. 

CF- COUNTERFOG S.L.

Counterfog® was founded as a spin-off company of an FP7 Project "Counterfog" -Awarded as best R&D Project in 2022 by the DG Home of the European Commission-. It markets and developes a unique set of technologies to counteract aerosols and CBRN toxic clouds,  including a broad diversity of airborne microparticles (viruses, bacteria, spores, fungi, toxic clouds, aerosols, chemical substances...) in a fast, effective and reliable way. The company has a porfolio of products for decontamination, detection and protection. Its multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists has a long expertise in R&D and highly complex technological solutions.

CSIC- A.E CONSEJO SUPERIOR DE INVESTIGACIONES CIENTÍFICAS

The Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) is the largest public institution in Spain dedicated to scientific and technical research, and one of the most prominent in the European Research Area. It is affiliated with the Ministry of Science and Innovation through the General Secretariat for Research.

The mission of the Spanish National Research Council is to promote, coordinate, develop, and disseminate multidisciplinary scientific and technological research in order to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and economic, social, and cultural development. Additionally, it aims to provide training to individuals, as well as advisory services to both public and private entities in these fields.

IP- INSTITUT PASTEUR

Institut Pasteur is a private, non-profit foundation located in Paris, France. Its mission is to help prevent and treat diseases, mainly those of infectious origin, through research, teaching, and public health initiatives. It is an international research and education institute that is committed to advancing science, medicine and public health. It has recognized charitable status entrusted with four core missions of public interest – research, education, the health of populations and people, and innovation development and technology transfer.

UNIVET- ALLATORVOSTUDOMANYI EGYETEM

UNIVET is the University of Veterinary Medicine in Budapest and it is the only veterinary university in Hungary, established in 1787. The University plays a leading and pivotal role in the education and research connected to animal health and food chain safety. The University has a wide network of stakeholders (feed producers, farmers, veterinary drug producers, food producers, etc.) acting as a consultation and also as a dissemination forum. It has a key role in keeping animal health, veterinary public health, and food safety trainings up to date with continuous development. Additionally, it has intensive links with national and international public Health authorities.

IRD- INSTITUT DE RECHERCHE POUR LE DÉVELOPPEMENT

IRD is the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development, an internationally recognized multidisciplinary organization, working mainly in partnership with countries in the Global South and in the French overseas territories. The Institute's research is founded on the pillars of sustainable development science, innovation, and interdisciplinary cooperation. The IRD “Occitanie” regional delegation, associated to the University of Montpellier, deployed six priorities including emerging diseases, poverty alleviation, migration, climate change and natural hazards, access to water and ecosystems. The delegation works with academic partners, research organizations, local authorities and economic players in the region.

NOVAP- NOVAPTECH

Novaptech is the French company dedicated to the selection of aptamers to molecular targets (small and large size) and cells (prokaryotes and eukaryotes) with high affinity and specificity. Novaptech characterizes the binding of the aptamers, and designs aptamer-based tools and assays. It is a spin-off from a laboratory of the University of Bordeaux/Inserm. Created as a technology transfer Unit in 2008, Novaptech became in 2016 a company that offers services to academic laboratories and to the industry worldwide for the development of aptamer-based-tools.

SJT- SAN JORGE TECNOLÓGICAS S.L.

San Jorge Tecnológicas is a Hight-tech SME located in Madrid (ES) with an active, multidisciplinary and international team of engineers developing mechatronics, optoelectronics, sensors, special prototypes and AI powered devices for science, space and industry. Currently is actively participating as well in Melchior (www.melchior-project.eu) and He-Farm (www.hefarm.eu)

CIOP- CENTRALNY INSTYTUT OCHRONY PRACY- PANSTWOWY INSTYTUT BADAWCZY

CIOP is the Central Institute for Labour Protection and National Research Institute of Poland. The mission of this Institute is conducting scientific research aimed at new technological and organizational solutions which are useful in the design of working conditions that conform to occupational safety and ergonomics requirements as well as determining scientific foundations for the development of socio-economic policies of the Republic of Poland in occupational safety and health.

ASRO- ASOCIATIA DE STANDARDIZARE DIN ROMANIA

ASRO is the national standards body from Romania – the platform for the development and adoption of European and international standards at national level. As an association of members, representing national stakeholders, it has the role to manage the standardization activity in Romania, to develop standards that are of interest for the economy and society, and to represent Romania in the European and international technical standardization. ASRO is a full member of ISO, IEC, CEN and CENELEC.

CATAL- ASSOCIAZIONE CLUSTER ALTA TECNOLOGIA AGRIFOOD LOMBARDIA

CATAL is an association of companies, universities, research centers and other public and private entities belonging to the Lombard agri-food chain that fosters collaboration between the various actors to promote and improve technological development and innovation and to support competitiveness and growth of the sector.

INCAR- INDUSTRIAS CARNICAS LORIENTE PIQUERAS, S.A.U

INCARLOPSA is a company whose main activity is the production and processing of pork meat products at a national and international level. It has one of the most modern and sophisticated slaughterhouses in Europe (12,500 pigs/day). INCARLOPSA invests in various R&D developments and has state-of-the-art technology in its 10 production plants.

ICPOR- ICPOR CASTILLA LA MANCHA S.L.

ICPOR is a company specialized in swine integration of white and Iberian pigs since 2012. Its production model, based on the promotion of efficient and safe pig farms, contributes to modernizing the pig sector and guarantees the highest product quality to the final consumer, complying with the strictest controls established by the regulations on animal welfare, health and food safety.

INRAE- INSTITUT NATIONAL DE RECHERCHE POUR L'AGRICULTURE, L'ALIMENTATION ET L'ENVIRONNEMENT

Inrae is the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food, and Environment (INRAE) is a major player globally in research and innovation on agriculture, food and the environment. It is a community of 12,000 people with 273 research, experimental research, and support units located in 18 regional centres throughout France.

Internationally, INRAE is among the top research organisations in the agricultural and food sciences, plant and animal sciences, as well as in ecology and environmental science. INRAE’s goal is to be a key player in providing the knowledge base supporting the necessary acceleration of agricultural, food and environmental transitions, to address the major global challenges.

THE MADRID INSTITUTE FOR RURAL, AGRARIAN, AND FOOD RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT (IMIDRA)

The Madrid Institute for Rural, Agrarian, and Food Research and Development (IMIDRA) has collaborated in the sampling collection at its facilities.
The Community of Madrid, through the Madrid Institute for Rural, Agrarian, and Food Research and Development (IMIDRA), an autonomous public research organization, conducts R&D and other technological and promotional activities to support the development of agriculture, associated industries, and rural sectors connected to the natural environment.
